Play Parkhaven — a free theme park sim Runs natively — no emulator

Parkhaven is a theme park you build and run. Lay paths from the gate, place carousels, teacups, a swingboat and a drop tower, add food stalls and restrooms, then design your own roller coaster piece by piece, with lift hills, banked turns and a loop. Keep guests fed, happy and not too queasy, and hit each park's goal. No download, no sign-up, nothing to install.

Written from scratch for ExeBrowser in JavaScript and WebGL. Every model and sound is generated by the game itself, so it starts instantly and runs on a phone. Open it full screen.

What it is

Parkhaven is a theme park simulator. Every guest who walks through the gate has a budget, a stomach, a bladder and an opinion on how intense a ride they can take. They wander your paths, pick rides, queue, spend money on food and souvenirs, drop litter, get lost, and tell you what they think. Keep them happy and your park rating rises, which brings more of them through the gate.

The heart of it is the coaster builder. Track goes down one piece at a time, the train runs on simple physics, and a test run measures top speed, G-forces, drops, airtime and inversions. Those numbers become the ride's excitement, intensity and nausea ratings, and they decide who will ride it and what they'll pay. Around that sit flat rides, go-karts, a log flume, stalls, handymen, mechanics, security guards and entertainers, breakdowns and inspections, weather, research and marketing.

Frequently asked questions

Is this RollerCoaster Tycoon?

No. Parkhaven is an original game written from scratch for this site, in the same genre as theme-park simulators such as RollerCoaster Tycoon (1999). It contains no code, art, sound or text from it or from OpenRCT2, and it is not affiliated with Chris Sawyer, Atari or Frontier. It was built from a written description of how the genre plays, kept separate from the original games. See the provenance notice.

Do I need to download anything?

No. Parkhaven is plain JavaScript and WebGL that runs in the page, with no emulator and no game files to supply. It needs a browser with WebGL 2, which every current desktop and phone browser has.

How do I build a roller coaster?

Open Rides, choose the Steel Coaster, and place its station. The builder then adds track one piece at a time: straights, slopes, curves, a lift hill, brakes and a loop. Bring the track back round to the station, run a test, connect the entrance and exit to a path, and open it. The test measures speed, G-forces, drops and airtime, which set the ride's excitement, intensity and nausea.

Can I save my park?

Yes. It autosaves every game month, and the menu has three save slots. Saves are kept in this browser on this device.
