Lemmings is no longer sold anywhere, and its publisher is gone or has left it unsold for decades. It is hosted here on the same footing as the Internet Archive's software collections. That is a practical position, not a legal claim. This page carries no advertising. Provenance: /apps/lemmings/NOTICE.md. Rights holders: it comes down within 48 hours on request.

About Lemmings

Lemmings began on the Amiga and was ported to almost everything, the DOS version included. Its 120 levels are split into four difficulty ratings, Fun, Tricky, Taxing and Mayhem, and each has a password so you can come back to it. Each level gives you a fixed number of each skill and a minimum number of lemmings to save. The puzzle is in spending them well: a blocker in the right place turns the whole crowd, and one builder too few means a fall.

Tips for getting started

Use P to pause and plan. The plus and minus icons change the release rate. Write down the level password shown after each success: it is how the game remembers your progress.

How it runs here

This is the original DOS release of Lemmings, unmodified, running in DOSBox compiled to WebAssembly. The whole game is about 1 MB, so it starts within seconds on a normal connection. Sound and music play once you click into the game.
